April 2023

Springtime is in full bloom here in Northern Illinois; it is almost 80 degrees here today and we are spending as much time outside as we can! We just returned from our first revival meetings in the Spring, and what a wonderful trip we had! First, we headed out to Sturgis, SD, to be with Pastor and Mrs. Brian Ross and the folks at Calvary Baptist Church. The week was a tremendous blessing to us and we saw God work in many lives. We had the chance to visit Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands, and then we scooted out as fast as we could so we didn’t get caught in the oncoming blizzard!

We then drove to Red Oak, IA, and ministered at the Grace Baptist Church. I was able to preach a men’s conference on Saturday with around 100 men in attendance and about 14 churches represented, and what a great day God gave us! It was wonderful to see many men making decisions to be more faithful in their homes and churches. The revival meeting the rest of the week was an encouragement as well – it was a very hospitable church that had several hungry hearts for the Lord. I pray God continues His reviving work in both of these churches.

We made it back home in time for Easter, and the Spirit of God blessed in a mighty way with many visitors at our church and the gospel being clearly presented in song and sermon. We’re home for just two weeks, and then back on the road to North Carolina and then across to Kansas! Please pray for safety with the many miles being traveled, but also for God’s power in our services; we desperately want to see people saved and believers strengthened in their walk with Christ!

Happy Spring to you all!

Fall 2022

I trust you are enjoying the beautiful Fall colors wherever you are! God certainly is a master painter, and we’re so blessed to be able to behold His glorious creation. We’ve enjoyed ministering in a few meetings the last several weeks. It was a blessing to be a part of the Hope for America area wide crusade in the Rockford, IL region. This was an evangelistic outreach that saw about 10 churches participate to bring lost people to a neutral location to hear the gospel for eight straight nights. There was an average attendance of close to 400 every night, and we saw 16 professions of faith and several receive assurance of salvation! I was able to head up the children’s crusade and we had 5 young people who accepted Christ throughout the week! It was so neat to see the cooperation among local churches, and I pray that God would only continue the burden for revival and evangelism in our area.

Our family then left for a week of meetings in Pennsylvania. The Mount Zion Community Church in Acme, PA was such a blessing to us, and we had a great week serving and ministering God’s Word to these precious folks. There was a good response throughout the week, and there was several visitors who came for their friend night and heard a clear gospel message. A few days after we got back home we heard of one particular lady who was there several nights, and she finally made the decision to trust Jesus! We thank God for the work He accomplished this week and the work He will continue to accomplish among these believers.

Well, the holiday season is almost upon us! Besides preaching at one area church in November, we will be home for the rest of the year ministering in our church. We have a new pastor now and we are excited to see what the Lord has in store for us! 2 Timothy 4:5 tells us, “Do the work of an evangelist.” Though our meetings are done for the year, we want to be found faithful doing the work of an evangelist at all times. May we all be active in giving out the gospel in these wicked days. May the Lord abundantly bless you and give you a wonderful holiday season!

Summer Update

It’s been a hot start to August here in northern Illinois! Regardless of the weather, it’s been wonderful to get back home and to rehearse all that God has done as we’ve ministered in Christian camps and local church VBS’s the last several weeks. We helped in two vacation Bible schools near home, and then spoke two weeks of summer camp at Servant’s Heart Camp in Ramey, PA, and then one week of camp at Ambassador Baptist College in Lattimore, NC. The Lord blessed in each venue, as we saw several kids saved, several receive assurance of salvation, and many others making great surrender decisions!

I was reminded not to take praying for safety in traveling for granted, as on two occasions in the last few weeks we ran into very heavy rain while driving, and we witnessed several accidents as a result. Our van felt like it was starting to hydroplane a few times, but God put a stop to it and protected us. We’re thankful that safety is of Him!

We are now home for the foreseeable future, and I have become the interim pastor at our church. We are still traveling as God opens doors, but our schedule is a little lighter this Fall. Would you pray that God would use us here to provide stability and direction in the days to come? We are eagerly anticipating what He has in store for us as a church. May the Lord bless you and find you faithful wherever you’re at!

What God Did!

Greetings on a rather chilly May day here in northern Illinois. I wanted to give an update on our Spring meetings that we have just come through; God did amazing things everywhere we went! We thoroughly enjoyed being at the Calvary Independent Baptist Church in the little town of Saltillo, PA – Pastor Dan Long and his family were so hospitable and gracious to us. It was a joy to minister to this church family and God worked in many hearts that week. We then had a single Sunday in western New York in the town of Delevan at the Elton Baptist Church. The people were so welcoming and friendly and we had wonderful services, with many indicating God was working in their lives.

Then it was back to Illinois where we had a tremendous meeting with Pastor Dave Anderson and the folks at Heritage Baptist in Roscoe – this church is about 30 minutes from our home and so it was an added blessing to sleep in our own beds this week! Many hands were raised throughout the week and the conversation after the services was so edifying – God is clearly working in revival here. The following Sunday found us in Urbana Illinois at Calvary Baptist Church – our third meeting here with Pastor Olheiser and these sweet believers. We had great services, with 5-6 visitors coming during the week; it was neat to see some older saints, folks who had been in the church for years, humbling themselves and getting broken before God. You’re never too old to experience a time of refreshing from the Lord!

Our last Spring meeting was in Fremont, NE, with Pastor John McQueen and Liberty Baptist Church, and what a tremendous meeting it was! We had folks at the altar every service (which in itself does not indicate revival, but it is wonderful to see when folks humble themselves in that way), and many gave evidence throughout the week of the work God was doing in their hearts. On Friday night we had a special youth service after the main service, and one young man trusted Christ after pulling the Pastor aside and talking with him! It was a fantastic conclusion to the week.

We praise God for His many blessings showered upon us the last few months, and for the privilege of serving Him. Things don’t really slow down for us, as I am heading to Israel on May 22 with a group from Ambassador Baptist College. Then upon my return home we’ll have one week off, and then 5 out of the next 6 weeks I will be speaking in different VBS/Camp ministries. God has been so good in opening these doors for us, and we pray that He will be glorified and many souls will be drawn to Him.

Thank you for your interest in and prayers for our ministry; God bless!

Spring Meetings

Well, it’s hard to believe we’re in March already! Time keeps flying by and what must be done for Christ must be done now. The world has numerous problems and challenges, but God is still greater and is still in the business of saving souls and conforming them to the image of His Son. Praise Him for the part we have in His program!

Our family has had a good few months at home and we are now preparing to hit the road for our Spring meetings. Starting March 20, we’ll have 6 out of 7 Sunday’s being in different churches, 5 of those revival meetings. For a relatively young guy still in evangelism, I am thrilled with that! We have two meetings here in Illinois, and then one in Pennsylvania, one in Nebraska, and then one in South Dakota. God has been so good to us in opening doors, and we are excited to minister in these churches for the glory of God. Would you pray that God would bless these meetings with a special touch from heaven? We greatly desire to see people saved and Christians growing closer to Christ.

Thank you for your interest in our ministry. May we all continue to be faithful to God and His Word in these weary and wicked days. Keep your eyes on the skies – Jesus is coming soon!

Blessed and Thankful

“The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad” – Psalm 126:3

We truly rejoice in our God for all the blessings He has showered upon us in the last few months. As a young evangelist, I am grateful for any opportunity to preach God’s Word. How thrilled I was then that 4 out of the 5 Sunday’s in October found me preaching somewhere – we had three different revival meetings and then a one day meeting to close out the month! The Lord blessed at Faith Baptist in Belvidere, IL, with many good decisions and tender hearts. Lakewood Baptist in Harrison, TN, welcomed us with much kindness and hospitality, and also tender hearts ready to receive God’s truth! There were several important decisions made at the altar, and a sweet spirit dominated throughout the week.

From Tennessee we made our way to North Port, FL, to be with the precious believers at First Baptist Church. We so much enjoyed our time there, and the Lord blessed in each service. I heard many positive comments throughout the week of how God was working in people’s lives. There was an unsaved 97 year old lady in the Sunday morning service who heard a clear gospel presentation – I pray God gives the increase in her life before it’s too late. We closed out the month in Mobile, AL, at Meadowlake Baptist Church, pastored by my former Pastor, David Walton. What an encouragement to see the Waltons again and to minister among the saints there.

Now back home again, we look forward to the holiday season and helping out with all the special events at our home church, and then ending the year, Lord willing, in Oklahoma with family. My wife and I have a deep sense of gratitude for all God has brought us through this year, and for all the ministry opportunities He has already opened up for next year. We are so blessed and thankful to serve our faithful God for the cause of Christ and revival.

We pray you and yours have a very blessed Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas!

Great Meetings and New Doors

We have just returned home from a month long trip in which the Lord greatly blessed! I preached in Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, and then Pennsylvania. We had several one day meetings, and we saw a great response with many tender hearts in each place. What a special blessing to me to preach the opening two days at my alma mater, Ambassador Baptist College. It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since my wife and I graduated! It felt completely normal to be back on campus, and we praise the Lord for a great few days of chapel to kick off the semester.

God richly blessed our week long meeting at the Cromwell Bible Church in Three Springs, PA. The pastor and his wife are good friends from school, and we so much enjoyed our time together. Many hands were raised throughout the week, and I believe many good revival decisions were made. We pray God continues to strengthen these precious believers in their walk with Him.

We are home for a few weeks now, and then headed out for two more revival meetings and then a one day meeting. God worked it out for us to be at Lakewood Baptist Church in Harrison, TN, next month, and then from there we will scoot down to North Port, FL for a meeting. On our way back home we will stop over in Mobile, AL, to preach on a Sunday. We are thrilled with the doors God is opening, and we look to Him for many spiritual victories in each place we go.

God bless you my dear friend, may you continue being faithful to Him wherever He has you!

Busy Few Months

It’s hard to believe we find ourselves in August already! The summer is almost passed and Christmas is just around the corner (better finish your shopping soon!) The Lord has been so faithful to us these last few months. We had a wonderful meeting with Hope Baptist Church in Warsaw, IN, at the end of April. People were hungry for God’s truth and many responded and made good decisions. The months of May-July kept us busy with different pulpit supply’s and other opportunities at our home church. We just celebrated 10 years on staff here at Memorial Baptist in Rockford, IL! We are so grateful for a good home base and such a loving church family. Just last week we ministered at a teen event in Lyford, IN, and had such a blessed time pointing the younger generation to Christ.

The last two months I have made a push to get more exposure for our ministry by sending out introductory brochures to several hundred churches. We are starting to see a return from those as God has opened up many doors recently! This month we’ll be speaking in Indiana, Michigan, and then North Carolina. September finds us in Pennsylvania, and then October has us heading down to Alabama and Florida. We thank God for every chance to sing and preach about our wonderful Savior!

In closing, the Lord has allowed me to publish two books in the last two years. “Jesus: My Victory, My Life, My All” is written for the believer and is basically about the Galatians 2:20 reality of Christ living in us. “The Forever Lockdown” is written as an evangelistic tool to share with your lost loved ones, neighbors, and workmates. Both of these are now available here on my website. If you have not checked them out yet, please do so and share with others! God bless and thank you for your faithful prayers for us!

April 2021

Hello to all and Happy Spring to you! I hope you are taking some extra time to reflect on our Savior’s death and resurrection in this Easter season. He truly is the only hope and answer for lost mankind today. Sorry it has been a while since our last update, but as I know all of you can testify – life happens! It seems like time is passing more quickly and there is always an abundance of things on the “to do” list. Our family is doing well – everyone is healthy and strong. The kids are growing like crazy and keeping us busy. Our home church here in Rockford continues to press forward amidst all the craziness of our world. We have seen God do some good things recently, as our people seem to be genuinely growing in the Lord. We are excited about upcoming events on the schedule and more opportunities of reaching out to our community.

Our itinerant schedule has really slowed down due to Covid and some other factors. We are still confident God has called us into this revival/evangelism ministry, and we are looking to Him as our expectation (Ps.62:5). I am going to be making another push pretty soon to try and get more exposure for our ministry. Would you pray with us that God would open the right doors that He knows we need?

Also, I have started writing a monthly article on Christian living for the resourceful website: www.soundtradition.org There are many helpful articles that would be an encouragement to you I know. Please check it out and share with others.

God bless and keep pressing forward for Jesus!

Looking to the Lord

Hello again to all! The Lord has certainly been good to us this Fall. Our meetings went very well and were blessed by the hand of God. We ministered in music and children’s meetings in Pennsylvania in September, and then preached two revival meetings in Illinois. God worked in many hearts and many believers made good decisions to keep moving forward in different aspects of their Christian lives. We praise the Lord that His Word does not return void and we trust for continued blessings as people continue obeying God.

We are now back at our home church for the rest of the year, preparing for the Christmas season and all the events that go on with that. One special blessing that recently took place – I was able to lead Maurice to a personal saving faith in Christ! Maurice is a man I met several months ago at a prayer rally in our city, and he has come to church quite often in recent days. He walked the aisle the other night wanting to be saved! Praise God! How these Divine appointments make me thirst to be more used as a fisher of men!

In all the turmoil and uncertainty of our world, we are looking to the Lord as our hope and help. Please pray with us that God would continue accomplishing His will in our lives, opening the doors He wants for us in the future. May we all be increasing Christ wherever God has us!

In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” – 1 Thess.5:18
